How would you qualify and describe your artistic universe? I am a designer cum sexual anthropologist. i am fascinated by human sexuality, in all of its myriad of forms. My artistic universe is pleasure-centric.
How much place does imagination occupy in it? The imagination goes hand-in-hand with desire, which is the creative pulse of things, sexual or not. So i guess you could say that i have a good imagination… and sometimes it runs wild!
How did you get to focus on the creation of « erotic » jewelery? In 1992 i designed the « Sado-Chic » collection and one thing led to another.It was not until 2001, following the attack on the twin towers, that the Paradise Found fine erotic jewelery collection became the bridge to my mission to empower women and men to share and experience deep sexual satisfaction.
What were the key moments and key objects of your artistic journey? The Sado-Chic collection sparked , to my unknowing at the time, the beginning of what is likely to a life long journey. The petting ring best symbolizes the essence of the entire collection, which reflects my belief that body, mind and spirit are one. The petting ring is worn on the index finger and the thumb. It forces these fingers to assume a gesture call the chi-mudra. The Chi-mudra is used during the practices of yoga and meditation to encourage mental focus, essential to our capacity to experience deep sexual satisfaction. The petting ring is also designed to bring a new dimension to male masturbation.
What gave you the idea to make the Boudoir Bible? for the first time, In 2001, i presented the erotic jewelery collection to buyers who had purchased my designs since 1991. They judged the collection as SM and told me that while the pieces were « interesting » it would not be possible to place orders. i lost 20 retail clients that season, and this made me realize that i had some work to do beyond my jewelers bench. I started teaching sexual well being salons. I used my erotic designs as a sort of interface for the diffusion of sexual knowledge and understanding. It wasn’t long before i realized that in order to really make a difference in the world i would have to reach a wider public. And… what better way than a book to share ideas and diffuse information? I started writing the The Boudoir Bible in 2006 . It took me 5 years to complete and another year to find a publisher. Every publishing house i approached asked me to include an erotic story at the end of each chapter and I refused. I was thrilled when Rizzoli international accepted to publish The Boudoir Bible as it is – fact, not fiction.

Question: Comment en êtes-vous venu à vous intéresser à la création de bijoux érotiques?
En 1992 j’ai dessiné la collection « sado-chic », et à partir de là les choses se sont enchainées comme naturellement. Il a fallu attendre 2001 et les attentats contre les tours jumelles, pour que la collection de beaux bijoux érotiques appelée « Paradis Found » , « Le paradis retrouvé », devienne un lien vers ma mission de donner aux femmes et aux hommes le pouvoir de connaître et partager une profonde satisfaction sexuelle.
Question: Quels ont été les moments clés et les objets clés de votre cheminement artistique ?
La Collection sado-chic fut l’étincelle qui éveilla en moi la vocation de toute une vie, même si sur le coup je ne m’en suis pas rendu compte. La « bague caresse » (petting ring) symbolise le mieux pour moi l’essence de cette collection, qui illustre le fait que pour moi le corps, la pensée et l’’esprit ne font qu’un. La bague caresse se porte au pouce et à l’index. Elle oblige ces deux doigts à prendre une forme qu’on appelle le « chi-mudra ». Le « chi mudra » est une figure utilisée dans le yoga et la méditation pour favoriser la concentration mentale, essentielle pour être capable de ressentir une satisfaction sexuelle profonde. La « bague caresse » est également conçue pour ajouter une nouvelle dimension à la masturbation masculine.
Question: Qu’est-ce qui vous a donné l’idée de la « Bible du Boudoir » ?
En 2001, j’ai présenté pour la première fois ma collection de bijoux érotiques à des acheteurs qui me suivaient depuis 1991. Ils ont considéré que cette collection appartenait à l’univers du SM et m’ont dit que bien que les pièces fussent intéressantes, ils ne pourraient pas en commander. J’ai perdu vingt clients particuliers cette année -là, et j’ai réalisé que j’avais un travail à accomplir au-delà de mon atelier de joaillière. J’ai commencé à enseigner le bien-être sexuel dans des salons. J’ai utilisé ma gamme d’objets érotiques comme moyen de communiquer ma connaissance et ma compréhension du sexe. J’ai très vite réalisé que si je voulais faire une différence dans le monde, il me faudrait toucher un public beaucoup plus vaste. Quel meilleur moyen qu’un livre pour partager et diffuser une information? J’ai commencé à écrire la Bible du Boudoir en 2006 et il m’a fallu cinq ans pour terminer le travail et une année supplémentaire pour trouver un éditeur. Toutes les maisons d’éditions que j’ai contactées m’ont demandé d’ajouter une histoire érotique à la fin de chaque chapitre. J’ai refusé. Donc j’ai été enchantée quand Rizzoli International a accepté de publié La Bible du Boudoir telle quelle. C’est une réalité, pas de la fiction.
